90-Second Newbery Film Festival - BOSTON SCREENING

ABOUT ABOUT

The 90-Second Newbery Film Festival is an annual video contest in which kid filmmakers create short movies that tell the entire stories of Newbery award-winning books in just a few minutes. Creative takes are encouraged: think Charlotte's Web as a horror movie, or The Tale of Desperaux as a musical!

For thirteen years we've screened the best kid-made movies annually in New York, Chicago, San Francisco and many other cities . . . including right here in Boston, at the Boston Public Library!

Make your FREE reservation for the BOSTON screening of this year's 90-Second Newbery. The screening is hosted by YA authors James Kennedy (The Order of Odd-Fish) and Rebecca Mahoney (The Valley and the Flood and The Memory Eater).

We'll be showing movies made by kids from the Boston area and some of the best from around the country.

This year, the Boston 90-Second Newbery will screen on Saturday, April 6, 2024 from 3-5 pm at Rabb Hall in the Boston Public Library in Copley Square. Books will be available for sale, and you can hang out with the authors and filmmakers!

Tickets are free! However, we recommend reserving your seat in advance to ensure admittance. Although a reservation is recommended, you don't have to bring a printed ticket. And if you want to make a donation to keep the film festival going, we'd certainly appreciate it!

(Interested in making your own 90-Second Newbery movie? Great! The deadline is March 8, 2024. You can find complete details, plus video resources, at the 90-Second Newbery website: http://www.90secondnewbery.com.)
