90-Second Newbery Film Festival - TACOMA SCREENING

ABOUT ABOUT

The 90-Second Newbery Film Festival is an annual video contest in which kid filmmakers create short movies that tell the entire stories of Newbery award-winning books in just a few minutes. Creative takes are encouraged: think Charlotte's Web as a horror movie, or The Tale of Desperaux as a musical!

For thirteen years we've screened the best kid-made movies annually in New York, Chicago, Boston, and many other cities . . . including right here in Tacoma, on Sunday, May 19, 2024 from 3pm-5pm at the Grant Center for the Expressive Arts!

Make your FREE reservation for the TACOMA screening of this year's 90-Second Newbery. The screening is hosted by children's authors James Kennedy (The Order of Odd-Fish) and Tacoma's own Doug Mackey.

We'll be showing movies made by kids from Tacoma and some of the best from around the country.

Tickets are free! However, we recommend reserving your seat in advance to ensure admittance. Although a reservation is recommended, you don't have to bring a printed ticket. And if you want to make a donation to keep the film festival going, we'd certainly appreciate it!

(Interested in making your own 90-Second Newbery movie? Great! The deadline is March 8, 2024. You can find complete details, plus video resources, at the 90-Second Newbery website: http://www.90secondnewbery.com.)
